Northeast SHO is now an authorized SCT (Superchips Custom Tuning) dealer!  We are eager to bring the latest cutting edge tuning technology to SHO owners!  It will take us a few weeks to ramp up, but keep an eye out here for updates.  We will be updating our website to facilitate online ordering of SCT products, and will also be offering a special tuning package for customers who already own an SCT tuning product but are unhappy with their current dealer or the quality of the tunes.  SHO owners who have had their SHO tuned by any other SCT dealer would be surprised to find out just how lean some of those tunes are.  We have seen A/F ratios as lean as 16.8:1!!!

We currently have completed tunes available for all V8 SHO PCM codes!

►Parts

Northeast SHO is one of the largest suppliers of V6 and V8 SHO parts in the country.  We are currently working on a live inventory system that will be available on this site.  In the meanwhile, please email us with all parts requests

Please be as specific as possible in describing the part(s) you are seeking.  We DO NOT currently have the following parts available:

• Minor Interior/Exterior Trim Pieces

• Y-Pipes (V6 or V8)

• 24mm and 26mm Sway Bars (we do have a number of 22mm '96+ sway bars available which will fit all earlier generation SHO's without modification.)

Larger parts such as engines and transmissions can be shipped, but all shipping arrangements must be made by the customer.  We will strap the motor to a pallet for pickup at our location by your carrier.  We have forklift capabilities. 

Body parts such as bumpers, hoods, doors, and even seats are available for local pickup only and can not be shipped.

►V8 SHO Engines Available!

All V8 SHO engines carry a 3 month/3000 mile warranty (whichever comes first).  For warranty service on such engines, the car must be brought to our shop in Spencer, MA for examination and determination of warranty eligibility no later than 7 calendar days after the failure, or no later than 7 calendar days after the expiration of the warranty, whichever comes first.  For engines installed by Northeast SHO, we also offer extended warranties of 6 months/6000 miles or 1 year/12000 miles for an additional charge.  Extended warranties are not available on V8 SHO engines that we do not install.

Special Notes Regarding V8 SHO Engine Pricing:

* $2500.00 is our starting price.  Frequently, when installing an engine, certain other parts will require replacement due to them breaking during the engine swap process.  Common parts requiring replacement are front endlinks, ball joints, subframe bolts and/or bushings, assorted nuts, bolts, and studs, etc.  Many of these parts break upon removal, or have to be forcibly removed, due to age or rust and corrosion.  Also, many cars which have sat for several months or more will often require a new alternator, as the armature and stator can rust together and then crack the case the next time the engine is started.  The average total cost for most engine installations ends up being between $2500 and $3400.  When dropping off your car for a replacement engine, we will explain this in detail, and advise you what we expect your total price to be at that time.  We will contact you to obtain your permission for any additional parts required to complete the installation of your replacement engine.

** Our standard price provides an allowance for one failed camshaft and up to 8 bent valves in your current engine.  Additional charges will apply for other parts which are damaged beyond repair.  The maximum charge for an engine which has received catastrophic damage and is completely beyond repair is $1000.00.  Also, if we receive your motor in any state of disassembly, additional charges will be incurred for the time required to inventory and examine all removed parts.  We strongly recommend against trying to attempt to repair a cam failure motor on your own, as anything you try to do before we receive the motor will probably end up costing you more!

►Why is the price the same with or without installation?

We prefer to install the engines we sell ourselves.  With over 140 V8 SHO motor swaps under our belt, we are the most qualified shop in the country to install these motors.  When we sell a motor without installing it, we have no way of knowing if the installer is competent or qualified to be installing the motor and we simply can't stand behind it.  The V8 SHO is very unique in many ways, and it is simply not a car that you want to have someone with little or no V8 SHO experience installing a motor.

►Why such a high core charge?

Simply because we have had too many seemingly honest customers stiff us on core returns.  There is a very limited number of good V8 SHO core engines available, and we try to have a minimum of 4-6 on hand and ready to install at any given time.  Good engines and cores are not cheap.  Thus, to ensure the return of rebuildable cores on motors that we do not install, we must insist on a core charge that accurately reflects the value to replace the core if it is not returned or is not rebuildable.  You can avoid paying the core charge by shipping your core engine to us at least a week in advance of you picking up your replacement engine to give us time to determine if it is rebuildable.  There is no core charge when we are installing the engine, however additional charges may apply if your existing engine is not 100% rebuildable.  Please understand that our core charge does NOT reflect the value of the core motor, but instead reflects an amount designed to ensure the return of cores.  We have had people suggest that their used motor is worth $2000 because that is what our core charge is, and that is simply not the case.

EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2006 CORE CHARGES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!  We've tried to be accommodating in the past, however we have received several junk cores lately which were not rebuildable, so we are now forced to require core payment (or your core motor) IN ADVANCE before your replacement motor will be released.  Broken timing covers, oil pans, valve covers or amateur attempts to weld cams are starting to become a frequent occurrence which has resulted in us having to raise our replacement motor price.  We will be posting pictures of what constitutes unusable cores in the near future which should serve as a reference to anyone concerned about incurring additional charges.

►V6 SHO Engines Available!

We currently have several 3.0L and 3.2L V6 SHO engines available.  Engines may or may not include assorted bracketry, accessories, etc.  Prices vary depending on mileage and condition, but most engines sell for the following prices:

• 3.0L: $200.00

• 3.2L: $400.00

Prices are for local pickup.  Any shipping arrangements must be made by the customer.  We will strap the motor to a pallet for pickup by your carrier.  We have forklift capabilities,  Please use the email parts request link above if you are interested in a motor.  There is no core charge on V6 SHO motors.  Installation is available for an additional $700.00.  Current turn-around time is approximately 10 to 14 days.

►3.2L MTX SHO Engines Available!

We can provide 3.2L ATX engines which have been modified for near "drop in" installation in your 3.0L MTX SHO.  Engines include 3.0L camshafts and a full 60K maintenance service including valve adjustment, new cranks and cam seals, gaskets, and plugs.  You simply have to swap your intake, wiring harnesses, flywheel, engine accessory bracketry, motor mounts, power steering pump, alternator, and A/C compressor from your existing engine.

• PRICE: 3.2L MTX Motor $1500.00

Price is for local pickup.  Any shipping arrangements must be made by the customer.  We will strap the motor to a pallet for pickup by your carrier.  We have forklift capabilities.  Please use the email parts request link above if you are interested in a motor.  There is no core charge on V6 SHO motors.  Installation is available for an additional $700.00.  Current turn-around time is approximately 10 to 14 days.

• Add $250 for new connecting rod bearings installed.

• Add $150 for new valve cover gaskets and plug well seals installed.

• Add $140 for new spark plug wires installed.

►Shipping Information:

We generally ship parts orders and eBay items on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Most orders are ready to ship 5 business days after payment is received.  This means if you pay for an item on a Thursday, the earliest you should expect your shipment to go out is the following Friday.  Generally shipping quotes are for the least expensive carrier and method, so actual delivery times can be anywhere from 4 to 8 business days after the item is shipped.  Lately we have been very busy and shipping has been delayed, so please wait at least 2 weeks from the date an item was paid for before inquiring as to an item that hasn't been received.  Expedited shipping methods are available but are more expensive and still will take up to 5 business days from payment before being shipped.
